You are invited to Coffin Mew’s Employment Breakfast Seminar
Tuesday 4 October 2016
Registration at 8.00am for an 8.30am start. 9.30am close.
Robin Smith Suite, Ageas Bowl, West End, S030 3XH
This seminar will look at the trickier areas of the TUPE regulations as this is something we are always being asked to cover! We will then look at the new General Data Protection Regulations which are going to replace the current data protection regime and how your organisation can prepare for the changes. And finally we will provide you with an update on recent cases and a look at what’s on the horizon which will include a discussion about Brexit and the implications for employment law and, of course, there will also be breakfast!
The seminar will cover:
• TUPE Regulations: how to deal with the more complicated aspects of a TUPE transaction, such as making changes to terms and conditions post transfer, dealing with problem employees that you have inherited, and handling redundancies
• Changes to the Data Protection legislation: what this means for your organisation and how you can be prepared
• Case update and what’s on the horizon
• Brexit and the impact on employment law. Following the outcome of the EU Referendum there is much that is left uncertain, so we will provide you with guidance and our predictions on the consequences of the decision to leave the EU such as the status of EU workers currently in your organisation, and how you will be able to recruit overseas workers in the lead up to and after exit; our predictions on the main changes to employment law once we leave the EU; and the unfortunate rise of race hate in the workplace and how to deal with it
There will also be an opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have on any of these topics or any other area of employment law.
