The ARD Process: Effectively Advocating for Your Child in ARD Meetings

Please join the Arc of the Gulf Coast and Shiloh Carter of Disability Rights Texas for a free workshop to learn about your rights as a parent under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Art (IDEA) and effective advocacy strategies through the Admissions, Review and Dismissal (ARD) process.

Shiloh Carter is an Education/Disability Civil Rights Attorney at Disability Rights Texas. She represents parents of children with disabilities in their legal disputes with school districts and presents on numberous topics involving the legal rights and advocacy of students with disabilities. Prior to working at Disability Rights Texas, Shiloh Carter was a Supervising Attorney for the Center For Children, Law & Policy at the University of Houston Law Center. She received her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin. Shiloh Carter is also a mother of a child with disabilities.
