Event description

Description

Author Clayton Delery discusses his newest book, Out for Queer Blood. "In 1958, three Tulane students decided to entertain themselves by beating up a gay man. They killed him in the process. They were arrested, tried, and acquitted, and when the verdict was announced, the courtroom broke out into cheers. Out for Queer Blood examines the social context of New Orleans in the 1950's, demonstrating how both the crime and the verdict were virtually inevitable." In Room #250 of the New Orleans Healing Center.

About the Moderator: In addition to Out for Queer Blood, Clayton Delery is the author of The Up Stairs Lounge Arson, which was named 2015 Book of the Year by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.
