Event description

Description

Join us at the illy caffè Flagship store in San Francisco in our new University of Coffee training room.

This class is all about the art of tasting coffee. A full sensory experience engaging sight, taste, smell, touch and sound. Inside a beautiful cup of espresso is an entire world of pleasure. We invite you to experience coffee with all your senses, each sense interacting with others to create a whole greater than the parts, triggering the intellect and stimulating the imagination.

In this class you will learn:

  • How coffee origins from Ethiopia to India impact characteristics in the cup
  • How bean agronomy and chemistry affect flavor
  • How to identify the distinct flavors in a blend
  • How to develop your palette for tasting coffee

With the purchase of each ticket you will receive a special gift from illy coffee to take home with you!

Your Professor:

Giorgio Milos, illycaffè Master Barista

Giorgio Milos is a barista and coffee expert holding multi-skill certifications from the SCAE, SCAA (now combined SCA) and is also an Italian Barista Champion and illy's North American Master Barista in Residence. A barista's work starts with understanding how coffee grows, then applying a scientist's curiosity to the complex chain of chemical reactions and variables that create pleasure in the cup. Giorgio can be followed on Twitter (@Giorgio_Milos), Instagram (@MasterBarista), Tumblr (MasterBarista.Tumblr.com)
