Coffee Connect is designed to increase young professionals’ involvement in the legislative process.
For our latest installment of Coffee Connect, we're serving up conversation with Jonathan Townsend, assistant to the mayor for community development and policy in G.T. Bynum's incoming administration.
Jonathan was a teacher at Walt Whitman and Burroughs elementary schools for five years. As a community leader, he served as president of NAACP of Young Adults and is the founder of the non-profit organization NEON, a grassroots organization to raise Tulsa's level of educational awareness and community spirit. When Jonathan is not out bringing awareness to voting and civic engagement, he donates his time giving motivational speeches to various organizations within the community.
A Tulsa native, Jonathan received his undergraduate degree in Government from Oral Roberts University and his master’s in Educational Leadership with a focus on Higher Education at OSU Tulsa.
