Description

We Invite You

For coffee and cake, and a creative conversation concerning the future of our community.

Friday, June 29, 2018 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Waikiki Community Center ~ 310 Paoakalani Avenue, Honolulu Hawaii 96815.

On July 8, 2016, nearly two years ago, we forwarded an invitation to our first introductory Cafe to introduce our Thriving After 50 (TAF) program. The gathering was entitled “Conversations That Matter.” (CTM) Sixty of our members attended and many of them are still talking about how fun, engaging and meaningful it was.

We invite you to our second Café. An experience that offers the possibility of both a change in your perceptions about the challenges and opportunities that lay before us, new revelations as to your abilities to make a meaningful difference, and also provide you with the tools to cause this shift to be experienced throughout our community.

We anticipate this to be one of the most fun, engaging, dynamic and informative community gatherings we have offered.

The format we are using for (CTM) is the World Café Process. This is a process that has been used for thousands of groups throughout the world and is set up for collaborative dialogue.

The World Café is built on the assumption that people already have within them the wisdom and creativity to confront even the most difficult challenges; that the answers we need are available to us; and that we are “Wiser Together” than we are alone.

Join us as we explore the theme of “community.” Together, we’ll hear intimate and authentic stories about what community means. Whether it’s a story of rural communities, being raised in a community within a large city, moving from place to place, or finding the perfect or not so perfect community. We’ll learn what community means to people in our community.

The Waikiki Community Center’s (WCC), Thriving After 50 (TAF) program in conjunction with the Noble Purpose Network (NPN) invite you to join us as we explore together what it means for each of us to effectively engage with our community as thriving conscious elders.
