Event description

Description

The Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting in partnership with Howard University's Department of Media, Journalism and Film present Coding Boot Camp.

You don't need to be a developer to learn how to write and use code. Numerous reporters use programming languages such as Python to clean data or to automate tasks that aid in their reporting. The Ida B. Wells Society will offer a two-day introductory Python programming language course that will help reporters grab data from the web, clean data and speed up everyday tasks. Reporters will also see examples of investigative projects that use coding.

The Color Coded Coding Bootcamp will be held on Oct. 28-29, 2017 at Thurgood Marshall Center, 1816 12th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20009. The event will run from 9 am to 4 pm.
