NOTE: Please bring (or borrow) a laptop. And, if you've never been to The Iron Yard, please allow extra time for navigation.
CoderDojoDurham is a programming club for our young people ages 7 to 17. Attendees learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, and games in a fun, social environment. We meet on Saturdays, from 2:30 - 4:00 pm at The Iron Yard, located at 334 Blackwell St. - Suite B001 in Durham. Please check our calendar and blog for updates.
A FREE Ticket is required for entry. Your RSVP through Eventbrite also makes attendance analysis and check-in easier. Register on Eventbrite (search coderdojodurham). Each event ticket will be released at least 2 weeks before each event. Please use the name of the young person when registering. You will need to register each young person attending. Those under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Adults do not need tickets, but must be accompanied by a child.
Bring (or borrow) your own laptop. Please contact us via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you are unable to acquire your own laptop.
Arrival and Registration
We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes early to give yourself time to find the location, sign-in/register, and get set up on wifi. Remember, you will need to bring your own (or borrowed) laptop to use. Parents will complete registration by signing in minors. They will need to sign a Conditions of Participation Form and a Photo Release Waiver. Parents/guardians of children under the age of 12 will be required to stay for the duration of the club meeting. Parents of those 13 and over may provide emergency contact information if they intend to drop off their child.
Coding Ninja Presentations
Before everything wraps up, we want to give our Coding Ninjas the opportunity to present their own coding projects to the group. If you have something you’d like to share, let one of our mentors know.
