This is for mentors to RSVP for the Eventbrite.
We will be having a mentor meeting this week, either on Wednesday, September 18 or Thursday, September 19 at the Fueled Collective (568 Broadway, New York, NY 10012). Stay tuned!
CoderDojoNYC + the Beam Center + Overtone
Join us and program music with Overtone! We will be learning how to make simple notes, chords, and progressions as we try to reinvent old tunes and create some of our own!
At CoderDojo, we teach kids between ages 7 and 18. If you are under 13, we kindly ask that you are accommpanied by a parent.
Those of you who want to start ahead can take a look at setting up Overtone on your own machines. If you cannot set it up, never worry! We will spend a couple of minutes getting Overtone up and running on your machines in the beginning of our workshop.
For this dojo, we will be located at the Beam Center. Thanks to Brian Cohen and his team for hosting us for this session!
For those without a laptop:
The Beam Center and CoderDojo can accomodate kids and parents who cannot bring a laptop but would still like to attend the event. The Beam Center and CoderDojo combined have 10 laptops to help out kids who could not bring their own, and many of the mentors will bring in their own laptops to share with kids.
You can take:
- F or G train to the "Bergen Street" stop
- 2,3,4,5 to the "Borough Hall" stop
For those driving, there is parking available nearby, along Bergen Street, Boerum Place, and Smith Street.
The Beam Center is located on Bergen Street, between Smith Street and Boerum Place (Google Maps).
