Event description

Description

Code24 wants to empower and inspire girls of color to engage and innovate in STEM fields and grow as leaders in their community through exposure to computer science and technology by providing young girls with access and the skills to build their own futures with computing opportunities.

We are offering workshops in the following programming languages and dates!

Sign up a young girl today to join our #CodeCrew!

Intro to HTML/CSS

Saturday, July 29th or Saturday, August 12th

Noon-4pm

Does your young girl want to learn how to build their own website or interested in learning to program but want to start small? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, this course is for her!

Code 24 will help her tackle the basics of HTML and CSS without breaking a sweat. This beginner-level program will teach her the basics and help your young girl along the way as she develops her own website.

Intro to JavaScript

Saturday, August 19th

Noon-4pm

Is your young girl curious about programming?

JavaScript is the world's most popular programming language for a reason -- it's the primary way to build interaction on the web. Learning JavaScript is a logical next step once you've learned HTML/CSS.

We will end up going over some trickier words -- 'variable' and 'concatenation' - this course is especially designed for our young ones new to programming concepts, so they'll leave the day learning to program with JavaScript.
