Event description

Description

Now even the youngest students can explore the limitless world of computing! YouthLink has partnered with Code.org to offer Code Studio: Course E - Computer Science (CS) Fundamentals, an online course that blend self-guided and self-paced tutorials with “unplugged” activities that require no computer at all!

Students will practice coding with algorithms, loops, conditionals, and events before they are introduced to functions. In the second part of the course, students design and create a capstone project they can share. (Course E is recommended for 4th Grade)

All Code.org lessons align to all relevant computer science standards, as well as to the ISTE standards. They additionally reinforce concepts and skills taught in other subject areas by integrating national Math, English Language Arts, and Science standards

Students will need access to a computing device (computer, laptop or tablet), Internet, and a modern web browser to access Code Studio, Code.org's online computing platform. Each participant will receive a username, password, and webinar details prior to the start of the course.

All sessions will be led by an experienced computer science professional.

Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. As there will be a waitlist, please honor your commitment, or cancel to allow for those on the waitlist to attend. If you have any questions, please contact YouthLink at info@youthlinksc.org or 864-973-7625.
