As part of our Code a Game Workshop, we will host your child's project online for friends and family to play!
In this course, we will be creating a game similar to the famous tower defense video game, Plants vs. Zombies. The game involves using a variety of different plants to prevent an army of zombies from entering the house and "eating our brains". In Plants vs. Zombies, players place different types of plants, each with their own unique offensive or defensive capabilities, around a house, in order to stop a horde of zombies from reaching it.
Students will learn about events & actions, layout, layers, and explore objects and variables.
We also conduct interactive group activities which demonstrate computer science concepts for beginner and eight hour workshops. This will be an unplugged activity (without computers) where we introduce your child to computational thinking through concepts such as binary numbers and data compression, separated from the distractions and technical details of having to use computers.
We end the workshop with a showcase where the children get to show off the game they made!
At iTrain Kids, we believe in quality of education which is why our half day workshops are capped at 12 students, and we ensure that at a minimum there is 1 trainer for every 6 students.
Anyone can learn to code with our workshop and no prior experience is required.
