Event Details

May is Haitian Heritage Month and we’re kicking off the month in true form to support a wonderful cause by embracing the Haitian culture through the sounds of Kompa and enjoying Cocktails. To celebrate the beautiful Haitian Culture, Project Cumi and Serving Others Worldwide is cordially inviting you to an after 5 cocktail event in support of Haitian American Caucus Primary school.
Come out as we celebrate an evening of delicious food and great libations. As the first black Republic, Haiti is rich in History and its cultural offerings. Come enjoy a night full of fun, flavors and traditional Haitian music with DJ KEKE on the 1’s and 2’s!!!
We’ll also have the opportunity to be in the company of two Amazing local artists: Zsudayka Nzinga who specializes in expressionist portraits of Black women and Jasmime Williams, who specializes in drawing and painting portraits. Our Artists will be painting and drawing to the vibes of Kompa and you will have the opportunity to be the highest bidder and take a lovely piece of artwork home.
One thing the Haitian culture prides itself on is its love for flavors. We will have SWB catering all the way from New York City right here in DC! SWB is A fusion of Haitian and American food. SWB catering is focused on serving their customers as they would serve their families. Their motto is “Cooking is more than food; it’s a work of art”.
