Coastal Field Adventure...Crocodiles to Coral Reefs...Life along the shore of the Upper Keys. Travel across the bay and spend the day on a trip to Key Largo...take a journey south, over the bay and discover the rocky history of the upper keys.  Romp through the forest, climb the mangroves, and swim amongst the fishes. The park contains a wide variety of tropical vegetation, shore birds and marine life. While the mangrove swamps and tropical hammocks offer visitors a unique and interesting experience, it is the coral formations and associated marine life that most park visitors come to enjoy. The coral reefs along this coast are among the most beautiful and diverse of all living communities.

Each Nature Family Field Trip includes an introduction to the location, an educational program for the kids, an active game, and a Master Naturalist guided nature walk and talk. Learn about the ecosystem you are exploring, identify flora and fauna and HAVE FUN!

Endurance and curiosity are needed for this trip. You will go from hiking the trail to the clear waters to explore with nets and masks for fish and crabs in the seagrass, mangroves and algae laden rocks.  Swimming clothes and water shoes are needed.
