Event description

Description

We are honored to have First Nation educator Kwantlen Elder Hazel (Fillardeau) Gludo at the Deer Lake Gallery. Allowing public the opportunity to experience and learn about the local Coast Salish culture and history through activities and presentation.

Hazel Gludo

Well respected Kwantlen Elder Hazel Gludo, or Auntie as she prefers to be called, shows you how to use cedar to weave a beautiful traditional bracelet!

Cedar played a vital role as a resouce in the production of natural goods, as well as in the spiritual beliefs and ceremonial life of the Coast Salish People.

We are looking forward to Aunties stories and beading demonstration.
