Shana dedicates her time and energy to empowering women and youth across America. Her goal is to inspire individuals through education, personal experiences, encouragement and hope: to recognize their full potential, to pursue dreams and ultimately to fulfill their purpose.
Shana lends her voice, time and experience to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through various organizations such as Zonta, Soroptomist, The Houston Area Women’s Center and The Santa Clarita Domestic Violence Center. As faculty and member of the College of the Canyons Civic Engagement steering committee, Shana has played an intricate role in the development and planning of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault workshops, as well as a Human Trafficking Summit to educate and increase awareness amongst students and the surrounding community. Ms. Vonn is also responsible for launching the first debate watch party in the history of College of the Canyons.
Shana has also sponsored groups such as “Women’s Space” that provides a safe haven for females pursuing higher academia to freely address challenges they may be experiencing as students and professional young women. Lastly, Ms. Vonn supports the LA Youth Network which provides shelter and resources for homeless teens in the Los Angeles area, as well as MPAC (Mack Performing Arts Collective), the Robert Royal and Santana Dotson Foundations, which support underprivileged youth through the arts and sports in the Houston and New Orleans areas.
Ms. Vonn is a Professor of Psychology, an Actress, Producer, Inspirational Speaker, former Relationship Columnist and Life Coach, Youth Advocate and as early as October 2017, she will also be adding Author to her many titles. However, at the end of the day, Shana believes the most important designations she will ever hold are those of a mother, public servant and survivor.
Domestic violence affects everyone, so show your support for women, children, men and families.
