Description

What makes a good coach?

You've likely advanced in your career by gaining specialized functional or technical expertise, and by proving to others you know your stuff! You’ve been hired and then rewarded on the job for having the answer, or for being a type of expert. You've been hired because of your competence and your sound advice. It is good to have the answers, to have expertise and share advice! And yet there’s another bring remarkable value -- to your employer, your staff, or your clients -- and it doesn’t involve you giving people the answers or the solution all the time. It’s through coaching.

Coaching requires a specific mindset. You succeed at coaching when, instead of giving all the answers, you cause new ways of thinking to emerge in another person. With a coaching mindset, coaching toolkit, regular practice and feedback, you’ll prompt thinking in others so they find answers and solutions themselves. With coaching, you support others to learn, to excel, and to deliver results they never believed to be possible.

In this 3 hour highly interactive experience, you will learn from Gale Stafford how to use coaching methods and specific coaching questions to drive exceptional performance at work.

  • How coaching differs from consulting, mentoring, and counseling
