This is a two-day Mini-Institute (day one on 1/27 and day two on 2/17) designed to help special and general education teachers collaboratively plan curriculum and instruction. This Mini-Institute begins with an assessment of the strengths and preferences of each teacher as well as how to find time for collaborative planning (which includes effective communication, problem solving, and time management). We will discuss, model, and have participants begin to plan for all co-teaching models where there is more than one adult working together in a classroom to create meaningful instructional accommodations and modifications that support curricular engagement for students with IEPs. Pyramid planning, backward planning, and utilizing Service Providers (speech, OT, PT) will also be discussed. Teachers will receive examples of visually concise weeklong and daily lesson plans for classrooms with more than one adult. Break-out groups will provide time for grade-level-specific planning.
By registering here, you are signing up for both dates.
