About this event

This 4 module, 12 credit “hybrid” course combines interactive online self-paced modules with once-a-week live Zoom discussions. Discussion group meets by Zoom Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30, April 5 through May 3. Instructions for accessing the online modules will be provided following the introduction discussion group April 5.

Course Description:

  • This is a “how to” course in building connected, trusting relationships between the family of origin and foster parents.
  • Module Topics: Foster Care & Grief, Empathy, Communication, Supporting Reunification
  • Online modules include discussion boards, scenarios, narratives, videos, activities and self-assessments
  • You'll be meeting once per week live via Zoom for a discussion with your peers where we'll share thoughts, ideas and experiences
  • Focus is on real-life experience and practical application
  • Completion of all four online modules and the discussion groups are required to receive training credit
