Presentation Title:

A Seated Tour of Downtown Springfield

A case study of urban design – The good, the bad and the other

Using downtown Springfield as a case study, Mark Westa, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Connecticut, will lead the group in a discussion of urban design theory and practice. Using the principles of the Congress for the New Urbanism, as well as other ideas on how to see and evaluate the urban environment, we will discuss the successes and opportunities of the fourth largest city in New England.
