Event description

Description

This advanced level workshop is intended for individuals who have completed our CNC Mill Part I and II classes. It typically lasts two hours. As the last workshop in the series, time will be made afterwards if needed for additional discussion on personal learning goals.

Workshop content will include post processing configuration of CAM toolpaths for use on our Tormach PCNC1100 Mill, and how to set up this machine for rotational 4th axis operations. Participants will get the opportunity to engage in dialogue about their own learning goals, and will have time to experiment with the rotational axis while discussing the benefits and limitations of using a 4th axis.

This workshop will demonstrate workflow for post processing G-code from CAM, however there will NOT be any content regarding the generation of 3D design models or toolpaths. If you are unfamiliar with CAM this will serve only as an introduction and is focused on the transfer of code from the software to the mill and reviewing the G-code prior to milling to check for mistakes.

Participants are required to read, sign, and adhere to the Inworks Terms of Use and General Safety Rules.

Prerequisites: Participants are expected to have completed both part I and II CNC milling workshops in order to attend the part III workshop. This workshop is not recommended for individuals who do not have prior experience with CNC machinery.
