Nutritional Care for Patients and the CNA
This course provides Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) with essential knowledge and practical skills to support safe and effective nutritional care for patients. Participants will learn the basics of nutrition, dietary needs across common patient populations, and the CNA’s role in promoting adequate intake, monitoring nutrition and hydration, and recognizing signs of nutritional risk. Emphasis is placed on safe feeding techniques, aspiration precautions, infection prevention, and clear communication with the healthcare team to support patient health, comfort, and recovery.
Vital Sign Boot Camp-Measuring and Recording
This hands-on bootcamp reinforces the essential skills CNAs use to accurately measure, record, and report vital signs. Participants will review normal ranges, proper techniques for temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and pain assessment, and common sources of error. The course emphasizes documentation accuracy, infection prevention, and recognizing and promptly reporting abnormal findings to ensure patient safety and effective teamwork.
