Geriatric Depression and the CNA
This course prepares CNAs to recognize signs of geriatric depression, understand how it differs from typical aging, communicate effectively with older adults, and carry out their essential roles in screening, observation, documentation and reporting. The course blends knowledge, hands-on skills and real-time clinical decision-making scenarios.
Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome and the Role of the CNA
This course prepares Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to safely support patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal. Participants will learn basic concepts of alcohol withdrawal syndrome, common signs and symptoms, safety risks, and the CNA’s role in monitoring, comfort measures, and timely reporting of changes in condition. Emphasis is placed on observation skills, therapeutic communication, trauma-informed care, and working collaboratively with the nursing and interdisciplinary team to promote patient safety and dignity.
