About this Event

The Carnegie Mellon University Alumni Association of Singapore is proud to launch our Distinguished Speaker Series with our inaugural panel event, Entrepreneurship in Asia!

Join us for a great evening where our distinguished panel will share each of their different entrepreneurial journeys and how they navigated the complexities of doing business in Asia.

Speaker profiles:

Gang Ye is the co-founder of Sea Group and has been a member of its board of directors of since March 2010. Gang has served as Sea Group's chief operating officer since January 2017 and served as Sea Group's chief technology officer between March 2010 and December 2016. He previously worked at Wilmar International and the Economic Development Board of Singapore. Gang holds B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University.

Aaron Tan is a Programmer by training and a Venture Capitalist by profession, Aaron founded his first startup at 13 and has already sold two companies before turning 21. He is currently the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Carro, an automotive marketplace that offers a full-stack service for all aspects of car ownership. Aaron leads the venture-backed company with years of experience in the startup scene and is committed to setting new standards for the used car industry, with professionalism at the heart of Carro’s ethos. He was also most recently awarded the ITMA Future IT Leader Award. Aaron graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BSc from Singapore Management University’s School of Information Systems, and subsequently accepted a scholarship from the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore to read Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University where he graduated with an MSc.

Alvin Poh has over 17 years of entrepreneurship experience, having built Vodien to be the top cloud hosting company in Singapore, which was subsequently acquired for an 8-figure sum. As CEO, he led the company through robust growth to 150 employees across 4 countries. He is now an investor and mentor.

Sanah Sabharwal is on the Digital Wealth Management team at J.P. Morgan. Based in Singapore, she is responsible for enhancing the digital client experience. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Sanah worked for PNC Bank in Pittsburgh where she developed tailored products and solutions for institutional clients. She was also involved in the strategic marketing and launch of several digital initiatives. Sanah received her MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
