CMU-Africa Masterclass - FinTech: Powering Africa’s Single Digital Market
Event Information
Description
Carnegie Mellon University Africa invites you to a Masterclass : "FinTech: Powering Africa’s Single Digital Market" with Dr. Martin Saint:
International commerce on the African continent is fragmented. With the recent launch of the Continental Free Trade Area, there is potential for African countries to come together to create a single market. Achieving this goal depends upon the application of technology in multiple domains ranging from regulation to digital payments. The Internet of Things, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and other technology trends and tools converge to form financial technology or FinTech, the foundation of cross-border commerce. This talk explores these topics and key drivers such as digital identity and technology education that are necessary to enable them.
This Masterclass will be followed by a Panel Discussion with industry expert to explore the opportunities for Africa to tap into the digital market, discuss emerging trends and key projects that are changing the fintech landscape.
Join the conversation together with tech professionals from different sectors in Rwanda as well as CMU-Africa faculty, students & alumni.
