Event description

Description

We invite you to join us at our NEXT CMM Meeting on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. We’ll be continuing with our theme, “Shaping a Business that Honours Christ” - seeking to encourage and develop men and women interested in starting and growing businesses that honour Christ in the ‘marketplaces’ of life. (The “Marketplace” is where ever we interact with others we meet along our path - in our businesses, our workplaces, our homes, and in our communities!)

Our topic: "Funding Options for Start-Up and Growth"

"Every business and organization requires a certain level of funding in order to carry out the mandate it's been given. Where do these financial resources come from to start, grow and effectively operate? What are some of the challenges that pose a potential risk to the financial stability and long-term viability of a venture, and what are some of the signs that you are getting dangerously close to the edge? Do funding needs and options change as a business matures? Are there programs and resources available that can assist with the funding requirements ahead? We’ll explore this in more detail at our upcoming meeting!
- Jim Ewing, Meeting Facilitator

Be sure to join us when the following participants share their experiences on this important topic:

Angie Beynon founded a web-based collaboration platform for post-secondary math and science courses. She’ll speak to the challenges of growing and funding a software business.

Rob Schmeichel is a Director at Farm Credit Canada serving the agriculture industry around the Edmonton Capital Region. He has leadership and governance experience in technology, financial and non-profit organizations, and serves on the Board as Vice-Chair of Eston (Bible) College.

John Fleming is a Consultation Advisor at the Heart Lake First Nation Consultation Office and has been the VP Business Development for Canada North Camps. He’s seen entrepreneurs create and grow many new ventures in Alberta’s dynamic economy.

We look forward to meeting you and trust that you'll find encouragement and a greater sense of purpose in the Marketplace!
