Mega Music Making with Rocksmith Remastered and Community Music Center Faculty
Join a team from Ubisoft’s Rocksmith Remastered video game in a demo that teaches guitar and bass skills complementing the live teacher experiences at CMC Sundays. Ubisoft San Francisco’s developers will be on hand with Rocksmith Remastered, showing how it’s the perfect companion to reinforce your personal lessons with a private instructor. From mini-games to help you drill techniques to our Riff Repeater tools that let you slow down and isolate trouble spots to jamming with your instructor in multiplayer mode, Rocksmith has a lot to offer to augment your personal path to learning guitar or bass! You can try out new techniques with a live teacher in a lesson demo or drop into the blues jam to hone your skills playing with others.

Ukulele Jam with Sandy Brassard
Bring your ukulele and play in fun, group class environment. You’ll be introduced to some favorite tunes to play and sing along. The instructor will provide song sheets with chords. Open to all ages and levels of experience. This class is a free trial of the Ukulele for Beginners classes at CMC.

Vocal Performance Practicum with Jonathan Smucker and Martha Rodríguez-Salazar
To kick off the new year, it’s time for another voice performance workshop! Open to all singers and the general public, this is a chance to put one of your songs on its feet for a small audience in an informal setting, receive performance feedback from voice faculty, and rework all or part of the song.  Led by voice faculty members Martha Rodríguez-Salazar and Jonathan Smucker, and accompanied by pianist John Kyrk, it’s a great opportunity for students of all levels. (self-accompaniment is also permitted).

  • To register to sing: Pre-registration is now full. There will be a limited number of alternate slots available for sign up at the event. Come early and bring music to perform.
  • To attend: no registration needed—come support our singers!

Contact Jonathan Smucker, voice department chair at jsmucker@sfcmc.org with questions.
