CMAA Annual Owners' Forum:  BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT TEAM

 

Delivering a successful construction project takes thoughtful planning, technically sound engineering, and an experienced builder.  But without a cohesive team and effective communications, things can deteriorate quickly, leading to poor quality, late delivery and construction claims. 

 

Consistently, Owners are emphasizing that the project team matters more than anything else in determining success on their projects.  But how do you create and maintain that team? And are there Owner strategies that can ensure a successful team?  How do you kick individuals off a project team and when do you use consultants to manage your project?  How does the delivery method affect team dynamics?

 

Join us for an in-depth conversation with Owners representing public and private sectors to hear about their experiences and answers to these questions.

 

Tom Peterson, former Chief Engineer for the Port of Portland, will moderate a panel discussion featuring the following professionals:

  • Jennifer Belknap Williamson, Port of Portland, Director of Engineering

  • Brett Taute, Multnomah County, Sr. Strategic Project Management Lead

  • Bill Ryan, City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services, Chief Engineer

  • Jennifer Taylor, OHSU, Director of Design and Construction
