You'll need to bring your own mace to this workshop. WHICH MACE SHOULD I BUY?

Different styles of macebell training demand different weights. If the goal is to make flows involving series' of lunge and chopping patterns, lighter maces are better. However, if the goal is performing more traditional movements, lighter maces work well while you learn the movements, but you should progress the weight as quickly as possible. This Mace workshop is more suited to heavier maces. In an ideal world you would have two maces: heavy and moderate. I recommend the following weights to people who have never touched a mace before:

Big strong women who are used to swinging things like kettlebells: 8kg

Smaller strong women: 6kg

Untrained women: 4kg

Big strong men who are used to swinging things: 10kg

Smaller strong men: 8kg

Untrained men: 6kg

...but after a few months of regular practice you should add 4kg-6kg.

You'll need your own mace for this workshop. Use discount code MACEMAGIC at www.onnit.com/onnit-steel-mace/ for a 5% discount!

ORDERING INDIAN CLUBS - You'll be supplied with a pair of Pahlavandles (which turn water bottles into pretty good clubs) but wooden clubs are a great investment.

Recommended supplier: Unfortunately, following one bad experience after another order clubs from US wood turners, I have no recommendations or discount codes. I haven't tried Onnit clubs, but they're usually out of stock. I suggest an eBay or Amazon search, using the following weight guide:

WOMEN:

Strong women with good coordination: 1.5lbs - 2.5lbs

Untrained women with poor coordination: 0.5lbs - 1.5lbs

MEN:

Strong men with good coordination: 2lbs - 3lbs

Untrained men with poor coordination: 1lbs - 2lbs
