Description
Clowning Around: the Art of Authentic Performance
register in advance: $35, $40 @ door
Clowns are the doctors of the performance world. While laughter is the best medicine, clowns can be but don’t have to be funny. They serve as windows into humanity’s soul. In this workshop, we will be practicing clowning exercises to access your own deep and raw authenticity. We will discuss the history of and misconceptions of clowning. Alyssum has been cracking audiences up for as long as she can remember, and will help you explore humor, and practice becoming comfortable with baring your soul on stage. Alyssum will also teach a few dance combinations. Appropriate for all levels of performers. Come in loose clothing and bring a notebook.
