Event description

Description

There are currently 6.9 million job openings across the U.S., nearly half of which are “middle-skill jobs” – jobs that require more than a high school diploma but less than a four-year degree. As students strive for an educational path that leads to a career, and businesses seek out skilled talent, we must consider new avenues to bridge that gap.

Join ECMC Group, ECMC Foundation, EdNorth, and the Minnesota Cup for a thought-provoking panel discussion about the intersection between education, policy, and innovation, and the role each plays in closing the middle skills gap, featuring individuals from each of those sectors. The discussion will be moderated by Aanand Radia, Managing Director at University Ventures – a venture capital and private equity firm focused on reimagining the future of higher education and creating new pathways from education to employment.

Moderator: Aanand Radia, Managing Director, University Ventures
Panel:

Mitch DeJong, Chief Technology Officer for Design Ready Controls

Kim Taylor, Founder / CEO of Cluster, Inc.

Louis King, President & CEO of Summit Academy OIC

Jeremy Hanson Willis, Deputy Commissioner Workforce Development, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development
