Class day and time: Fridays 12:00 PM-2:00 PM

Dates: First Class February 1st (Class meets: 02/1, 02/08, 03/01, 03/15, 04/05, 04/19, 05/03, 05/17)

Credit or Non-Credit Available, SDSU Credit: 2 Units $160

Course Description: This course provides participants the time and opportunity to explore culturally responsive and project-based teaching practices that challenge us to change the way we teach. Participants will form communities of practice around one book and implement a more thoughtful and deliberate approach to teaching that results in true learning partnerships to ensure student success.

Communities of practice will be formed around ONE text and relevant OER materials. Members will be invited to work collaboratively to design, implement and evaluate transformational strategies that directly address an issue in their classroom, campus or community. You must be an AFT Guild member in good standing to enroll.
