About this event

Part 1

In this 2-day workshop you will be working with the Tidyverse and the first generation of Pharmaverse tools in order to ‘deliver’ typical clinical trial displays. Going from SDTM all the way through to table generation. Specifically, we will walk through an end-to-end focussing on a sample of demographic, safety and efficacy summaries. We will also be using analysis results datasets (ARDs), which are the newly proposed CDSIC data standard, showing how they can be in cooperated into a clinical workflow.

Day 1: How to build an ADaM dataset with the pharmaverse.

The workshop will start with transforming the SDTM data into ADAM using {metacore}, {metatools}, and {admiral}.

Day 2: ARDs to Tables

This day will cover creating analysis results datasets (ARD)s using {Tplyr} and turning those ARDs into tables with {tfrmt}

Christina Fillmore: Christina Fillmore formally trained as a statistician, over her 5 years at GSK has transitioned into a data scientist. Her focus is on open source package development in a regulated environment. She also has a keen interesting in helping other develop R skills and become confident R programmers. She leads the development of {metacore}, {metatools}, and {tfrmt} as part of the Pharmaverse collaboration.

Ellis Huges: Ellis Hughes is a Data Science Leader and has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 8 years. He focuses on how organizations can use R and take open source approaches to improve processes and solve problems. During his free time he organizes the Seattle UseR group, the Cascadia R Conference, and hosts a weekly R screencast, TidyX, to explain data science concepts.

Thomas Neitmann: Thomas Neitmann has been an avid R user for 8 years and is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist as Roche. Over the last one and a half years he has been the technical lead for {admiral}—an R package for ADaM dataset creation—that has been co-developed by Roche and GSK. Recently he transitioned to become the {admiral} product owner and started a new role as Code Collaboration Lead focussing his efforts on fostering collaborative open-source software development within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically as it relates to the clinical reporting pipeline.
