This conference is designed for those working with Ethics Consultation or interested in clinical ethics. The Ethics Committee of Abbott Northwestern is offering an In-Service for Ethics committee members or those who are interested in increasing their knowledge and competence for Clinical Ethics consultation in the hospital environment.

At the completion of this conference, participants should be able to:
• Identify key concepts in bioethics
• Demonstrate increased facility with ethics consultation: the ethics workup, analysis, documentation
• Describe the role of the ethics consultant in clinical consultation at ANW

AGENDA - You will receive two 15 minute breaks and 60 minute lunch.

Day begins at 7:30 with Sign in, Welcome at 8:00 AM.

  • Ethical Analysis
  • LUNCH (On your own, Cafeteria, or Skyway Café)

  • 2nd Case Scenario
  • Summary and Evaluations

Nursing- This activity has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements for 6.6 hours of credit. However, the nurse is responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education.

Other(s) - Individuals representing other professional disciplines may submit course materials to their respective professional associations for 6.6 hours of continuing education credit if the content is applicable to the area of license renewal. In addition, you may be required to provide proof of attendance to the Board upon request.

Handouts and resources will be available to participants on the day of the in-service.

Park in the Main Parking Ramp at Abbott Northwestern. A parking voucher will be provided with your certificate of completion.

Registration Deadline is Friday, December 8. Tuition fee includes conference educational credits and light snacks and refreshments, and parking. To ensure a comfortable environment, attendance may be capped; early registration is recommended.

Tuition is non-refundable after Friday, December 8th. Substitutions are accepted at any time; to complete your substitution contact Krista.lee@allina.com. In the unlikely event the program is cancelled Allina Health will not be responsible for air fare, hotel or other costs incurred by participants.
