Event description
Join us as we learn about and search for the often misunderstood, but fascinating bat!

About this event

Bats play important roles in our ecosystem as insectivores and pollinators. North American species have experienced significant declines in recent years due to habitat loss and disease. This hike will explore bats, survey the Climbers Run Nature Preserve for bats using a bat detector, and explore nocturnal moths, the primary food of these fascinating creatures.

This interpretive hike will take place on easy terrain at a leisurely pace. Total distance is approximately one mile.

Recommended for ages12+. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather.
