As part of the Superstorm Sandy fifth anniversary week of action, 350Brooklyn and Brooklyn College Urban Sustainability Program invite you to our upcoming Town Hall on climate change. The Climate Solutions Town Hall on October 24th is an important opportunity to demand that our state legislators provide meaningful leadership and take aggressive measures to address the crisis of global warming.
Our panel includes Priya Mulgaonkar from the New York City Environmental Justice Alliance, Karen Blondel from Turn the Tide, Dan Sherrell from New York Renews, and Sean Sweeney, Director of the CUNY International Program for Labor, Climate and Environment. The event’s emcee will be Michael Menser of Brooklyn College. All State Senators and Assembly Members representing Brooklyn are invited, and we look forward to engaging them in this critical conversation.
The Trump administration has all but declared war on the environment: dismantling regulations that keep us safe, protecting the fossil fuel industry, and rejecting well-established scientific evidence of the human causes of climate change. Our hope for the future lies with state governments with the courage and vision to take action. We need to let our elected leaders in Albany know that we hold them accountable.
On the 5th Anniversary of Hurriane Sandy, we put our state politicians on notice: engage for change!
