Event description
Virtual Public Listening Sessions Hosted by FHFA on March 4.

About this Event

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is hosting a virtual public listening session to facilitate public engagement in response to the Agency’s Request for Input (RFI) on the current and future climate and natural disaster risk to the housing finance system and to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the Federal Home Loan Banks – collectively the regulated entities. The RFI raised questions related to two broad sets of issues: identifying and assessing climate and natural disaster risk and enhancing FHFA's supervision and regulation of the regulated entities’ management of such risks.

The purpose of the listening session is to receive input and feedback from a diverse set of viewpoints on these questions and any other issues related to climate and natural disaster risks to the housing finance system and FHFA’s regulated entities. The individual input and feedback received in response to the RFI will be considered by FHFA to determine the necessary modifications needed to ensure that the regulated entities operate in a safe and sound manner.

The session is tentatively scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and conclude by 4 p.m. ET. You may register to attend on the following page. A limited number of brief speaking slots during the session are available. Written input and feedback in response to the RFI may also be submitted no later than April 19, 2021 on FHFA.gov.
