Event description
Climate Realities: Science, Policy and Action

About this Event

California and the Amazon rainforest burn. 500-year storms, warming oceans and desertification threaten billions of people as we enter the era of the sixth extinction. Economic inequality rises exponentially. The urgency of climate change requires fundamental change. Is a Green New Deal the best way to do that? Or, as some argue, is it a pipe dream that will slow progress? How can we all make a difference?

The event will feature Demond Drummer, executive director of New Consensus publisher of the report that was the basis for the Green New Deal ; Isaac Larkin, a grad student in synthetic biology at Northwestern University, and Dejah Powell, a CPS and Cornell University grad (environmental science) and an organizer for Sunrise Movement, the youth organization on the front lines of the fight for the planet.

*Doors open at 6pm , program at 6:30pm
