Our event aims to open up the dialogue on how we, as students, faculty, alumni, and concerned community members, can engage with the advocacy work happening at a local and national level to address the intersecting challenges of climate change and racial injustice. Speakers will address divestment, environmental racism and racial injustice, and environmental challenges that affect us at macro and micro levels. Through this collaborative event, we are showcasing how these broad topics are intrinsically connected.

This event will also highlight current efforts underway at UWaterloo to attempt to address these challenges, as well as a possible vote on divestment and the adoption of a climate neutral investment policy by the University of Waterloo Board of Governors this spring.
