This workshop is one of a series of consultation events in preparation of a new Climate Change Sectoral Adaptation Plan (SAP) for Ireland’s Built and Archaeological Heritage, coordinated by National Monuments Service and National Built Heritage Service. Presentations on climate change and heritage risk in Ireland and on current work to address those will be followed by workshop activities to assist in formulating priorities and actions for the new SAP. The workshop is open to everyone. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

The workshop will start at 10.30am, with arrival and refreshments from 10am. This will be followed by a series of presentations:

Climate change projections (Met Éireann)
Climate change hazards to heritage assets (The Discovery Programme)
Discussion of hazards and impacts to heritage
CCSAPI: Achievements to date (Built Heritage Policy Department)
CCSAPII: Forward planning (Carrig Conservation)

We will then break for lunch, which will be provided. After lunch we will engage in two workshop activities to draw together ideas for the forthcoming Plan. The first will focus on impact chains, with each group assigned a key hazard to explore. The second will focus on solutions and actions you believe should be taken to adapt for risks to heritage.
