Event description

Description

Climate change is already showing devastating effects across the globe, from hurricanes in the Caribbean to toxic air pollution in major cities. Join Michael Walsh, Honorary Consul for Kiribati, to learn more about the devastating impacts of climate change on Pacific island nations whose entire existence is threatened by rising sea levels.

Fossil fuel companies are driving the climate crisis and have successfully delayed action on climate change for decades - but Islington Council continues to invest their pension fund in companies like Shell and BP. Learn more about how the "carbon bubble" means that fossil fuel companies are grossly overvalued, and can no longer be considered financially sound investments.

Let's take action against climate change and show solidarity with the communities that are most vulnerable - help send a message to Islington Council to take a stand against fossil fuels!

All welcome. Free entry, drinks and snacks provided.
