Climate Change Chat with News 19 Meteorologist Jim Gandy
Fri, May 5, 2017, 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM EDT
On Friday, May 5, WLTX News 19 will host a Climate Change Chat with South Carolina's Weatherman Jim Gandy. Gandy brings over 39 years' experience as a professional meteorologist to News 19 and has been a major force in South Carolina weather forecasting for 29 years.
Gandy partnered with the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University and Climate Central to develop a program called Climate Matters. The program is presented during the weathercasts to explain how and why our climate is changing. Jim received the 2013 Award for Excellence in Science Reporting by a Broadcast Meteorologist for Climate Matters. He'll update us on the latest science of climate change, followed by a sustainability tour of the station, who has been a Green Business for nearly 10 years.
Seating is limited at WLTX, so we are limiting registration to 20 people. Registration and continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m.; the program will begin promptly at 8 a.m.
