Description

Humanware/SEL is an important part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District's strategic plan to address conditions for learning. Monitoring and addressing the conditions for learning enhances the opportunity to create environments where all students are academically and socially equipped to succeed. This conference will provide an experience that will allow participants to explore the evidence-based programming occuring in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

Presenters will include:

  • Zaretta Hammond author of "Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain: Promoting Authentic Engagement and Rigor Among Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students"

  • CMSD professionals that guide and support the work of Humanware

  • CMSD professional practitioners that implement the work in schools

  • Social and emotional learning experts from the Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) and Promoting Alternative THinking Strategies (PATHS)

  • Research experts from the American Institutes for Research (AIR)
