Gun Violence: A Deadly Epidemic "What Can Nurses Do"

Presentation featuring Deputy Chief Deon McCaulley, Cleveland Police

Moderator panel discussion featuring Harry Boomer, WOIO Channel 19 News

Objectives:

Increase the public and healthcare professionals’ awareness regarding the magnitude of gun violence and its impact in Northeast Ohio.
Discuss the impact of gun violence locally and identify ways that nurses and other members of the healthcare team can collaborate to reduce the number incidences.
The learner will identify one evidence based approach to educating the public about gun violence.
Apply the additional knowledge attained and identify ways to relate to victims of violent crimes for the purpose of prevention and intervention.
