History of the Challenge
Case Western Reserve University & Cleveland Clinic partnered to lead Health Challenges between Glenville and Hough Residents.
This Healthy Community Initiative is an ongoing collaborative effort between Cleveland Clinic and various community partners to promote optimal health and wellness. Based on the Community Health Needs Assessment Report and utilizing combined resources within our local communities, the Healthy Community Initiative programs are customized around three core areas: education, nutrition and physical activity.
The additional partners for this effort were the Famicos Foundation, The Glenville Recreation Center Fatima Family Center, Hough Development Corporation, Cleveland Councilman Kevin Conwell and Cleveland Councilman T.J. Dow.
By participating in the Health Challenge, residents are taking the first step in enhancing their overall health and well-being. They were invited to participate by completing the following:
· baseline health screenings
· health and wellness educational classes
· follow-up screenings
All information received from participants was confidential and only aggregate biometric data was used to evaluate the neighborhood winner.
The next challenge kicks off on January 14th at Langston Hughes Community Center located in the Fairfax Neighborhood.
Lets keep the trophy in Glenville! Glenville residents please pre-register to be apart of the next challenge! For more information contact Erica Robinson at Famicos Foundation 216 791 6476 or by email Erobinson@famicos.org
