Join fellow alumni for an installment of the Cleveland Chapter Speaker Series as Alexis Abramson, PhD, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at CWRU, discusses the smart energy revolution.
Great economies rely on a strong energy infrastructure. The Smart Energy Revolution reflects a future where energy generation and consumption are optimized in consideration of a variety of factors. Sensors are ubiquitous and massive amounts of data are analyzed continuously to enable self-detection, self-diagnosis, self-correction and autonomous control.
The Smart Energy Revolution is about transforming our energy ecosystem into an intergrid of hyper-connected, intelligent and distributed resources that will strengthen and enhance our economy while addressing energy challenges.
Abramson, PhD is the faculty director of the Great Lakes Energy Institute. She has been with the Case School of Engineering since 2003, and was recently on assignment to the federal government from 2011-2013 where she provided strategic leadership and oversight to the Emerging Technologies Team at the Department of Energy's Building Technologies Office.
