The Texas Bible Chair Foundation is dedicated to providing excellent opportunities for education in the Christian Faith, and the Clergy Leadership Institute is designed to give insightful continuing education to clergy, both ordained and commissioned. Our workshops are open to all.
We will offer three workshops on Evangelism:
Introduction to Evangelism: A brief survey on Evangelism, including a theological and biblical foundation for proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A “Come and See” Approach to Evangelism: A guide for marketing to increase visibility of your church and the number of visitors coming through your doors. We will also look at the vital role of hospitality and making guests feel welcome.
A “Go and Tell” Approach to Evangelism: A guide for the vital mission of the church in terms of outreach. Empower your members to tell their story and demonstrate their faith in acts of service.
In order to prepare for the workshops, we ask that participants read Everything Must Change by Brian McLaren and two articles from the Christian Century (Feb. 3, 2016): The Post-anxiety Church by Carol Howard Merritt and Harvest in Due Time by M. Craig Barnes (download here).

Our Instructor is Rev. Ron Trimmer. Rev. Ron Trimmer has devoted his life to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A graduate of Eden Theological Seminary, he was ordained into ministry in the United Church of Christ in 2001, and he served at Friedens Church near Washington-on-the-Brazos state park for 8 years. In 2009, Rev. Trimmer felt moved by the Holy Spirit to start a new congregation, Hope United, in Georgetown, TX. Hope United averages 50 in worship and is a community of faith that is open to all, offering the freedom to explore the questions of life, share the love of Christ, grow in faith, and work for peace and justice.
In 2015 in addition to his service at Hope United, Rev. Trimmer became Executive Director of the Texas Bible Chair Foundation. With his background as chair of the committee on ministry and his success as a church planter and innovator, Rev. Trimmer offers insight and vision to this vital ministry of education for the church.
