Brief Description:
The Clemson Off Road Triathlon will be held in beautiful Issaqueena Forest, just minutes from downtown Clemson, on Saturday March 26, 2011. This will be a fun and challenging event. A great way to welcome spring and kick off the 2011 racing season! The race will consist of a 4 mile trail run through Issaqueena forest, a 3 mile kayak on pristine lake Issaqueena and a 10 mile mountain bike on some of the best trails South Carolina has to offer. The race is set at an amazing venue overlooking the lake with dock access for spectating.

Relays- Relays are allowed and can be 2 or 3 people and can be transfered.

Course
    * 4 mile trail run
    * 3 mile kayak or canoe

Event II: Paddle
The 3 mile paddle course takes place on a 120 acre still water lake, closed to all other boaters. It is a 2 loops course around Lake Issaqueena nestled in the heart of the Clemson Experimental Forest.

   1. Kayaks of all types will be permitted. Canoes will also be allowed. Fixed rudder boats are not recommended due to some weeds.
   2. If you do not have a kayak with which to race, rentals will be available, but reservations must be made ahead of time- limited boats available.
   3. It is required that all paddlers carry with them an approved PFD.

Event III: Bike Course
Participants finish the race on a challenging 10 mile mountain bike course. The trail varies in width from 3 to 8 feet wide featuring both double and single track. The trail is built to accommodate riders of all levels, but offers technical challenges for those with advanced skills. There are, for instance several natural obstacles that may be either ridden or bypassed at the cost of a few seconds time.

   1. Approved Hard Shell Helmets must be worn and fastened before leaving the Transition Area
   2. Stay to right to allow faster cyclist to pass on the left
