Welcome to the start of Clean Up Oakland!

Background: I’ve been living in the Longfellow (between Temescal and Emeryville) in North Oakland for the past 4 years. There is tons of trash here so I started picking it up but more came. I’m tired of it and having trash attracts more trash.

Inspiration for this group: Clean Mission

We will start and end at the San Antonio Neighborhood Recreation Center (map) in Oakland. I am in the process of trying to find a place for the social gathering at 12pm.

On the day of, I will provide maps of suggested areas to clean. Like the Clean Mission group, we will avoid picking up any of the following: needles, hazardous materials, items that are too heavy or that you don't feel comfortable picking up. I will borrow trash bags, gloves and trash grabbers from the City of Oakland's Public Works department

Clean Up Oakland will take place on the last Sunday morning of each month, 10am-12pm in a different part of Oakland. Rain will cancel.
