Event description

Description

Current statistics show one in three children has been touched by trauma. Trauma damages the interconnections in the brain and scrambles the smooth integration of bodily functions. How do we restructure and reconnect this wiring to allow for effective intercommunication between brain and body? There are many activities that can be embedded in daily routines and lesson planning to build essential life skills in all children. Through intentional use of language and a focus on problem solving, teachers can construct a child with confidence and hope for future success.

The learner will:

  • Participants will be able to state the necessary components of trauma informed care .

  • Participants will practice self-regulation and focus activities.

  • Participants will understand emotional literacy and ideas to promote it.
